It’s official. I’ve been a “local” for exactly 1 week, although it seems that out here everyone’s a local…oh and a meteorologist :). In honor of my 7th day in CO, Ullr (Patron Saint of Skiers…more on him later) blessed us with 6″ of snow. It was a beauteous sight to behold on this cold, cold morning, -6 to be exact. Unfortunately, I was unable to embrace the POW this morning, as I had to hurry off to my 4th day of Concierge/Front Desk training. However, from what I heard from Glen, my new ski patrol friend (we met taking a soak in the hot tub this evening…), the mountain was chock full of bozos pretending we got 24″ of snow, hurtling themselves down the mountain. A few inches of snow brings out the best in people!
Either way, I’ve survived a week in the wild west ON. MY. OWN. Gotta say, I am pretty proud of myself. You all know I am not a very solitary person. I mean, I like my “alone time” but generally I am either alone WITH someone else or alone on my own terms…aka hunkering down with some Double Stuf, a big glass of milk, and Castle, all while ignoring my phone :). This time around, I’ve spent a lot of quality time with yours’ truly and so far I like what I see—a confident chick, who is looking the world straight in the eye, daring him to do his worst. If that’s not girl power, I don’t know what is!
Have a fab Monday everyone!
