the weather gods played another cruel joke on us last night. Therefore, I’ve decided that if I EMBRACE the snow…the winter gods will give up and give summer a shot.

Happy 21st birthday to the raddest baby brother around. Here’s to another 21 as gnar as the first! Keep on keepin’ it real Tommy-Moe!

27 May

Five days “roughin” it in a tent in Kane Creek Canyon. Nine hour detour up through the Yampa River valley. Two sweaty, hot runs through red rock canyons, along the Colorado River. One shower at a gas station. One incredible bouldering expedition along “Wall Street“. Three dogs, eight “adults”. Five hours of cliff-jumping at the Mill Creek swimming hole. One hatchet incident…oh and one cactus incident. Two jeepin’ trips–Hurrah Pass and Potash Road up into Canyonlands. Two National Parks and one State Park in two days–Canyonlands, Arches, and Dead Horse. One SPECTACULAR sunset atop Hurrah Pass–complete with a personal skim from a prop plane. Numerous thieving crows. Far too many thirst-quenching Banquets and PBRs. One HUGE full moon. Endless evenings of laughter, under bright stars and glowing canyon walls.

Spent four days camping in Moab with some of Keystone’s best. Fondly known as “Colorado’s playground”, Moab didn’t disappoint. 90°, non-stop sun, hiking, running, biking, red dirt, swimming holes, bonfires, arches, and vibrant desert colors were exactly what the doctor ordered after the incessant snow and cold that we’ve experienced this spring in Summit County. Occasionally you are fortunate enough to have an experience that breaks down all boundaries and exceeds all expectations. Well Moab did just that. Can’t wait for next year.

Sunday Somethings.

19 May

1) I went for a run this morning and was rained on, snowed on, AND sunned on (technical term…) all in a matter of 1.5 hours.

2) A moose went through some windows of a room on the first floor of the lodge. #thathadtohurt #mooseontheloose
3) Keystone summer activities start on May 24…count me in for some paddle boating!
4) I think they had me in mind when the opened D Bar in Denver. Creme Brulee…’nuff said.
5) Missing this munchkin.
