- 7 Stages spanning Aspen, Breckenridge, Steamboat, Beaver Creek, Vail, Fort Collins, and Denver.
- 600 miles through the Colorado Rockies, with 42,000 feet in vertical climbs
- 16 international teams, comprised of world-class cyclists (we saw Chris Froome!)
- A large number of the cyclists competing in the US Pro Cycling Challenge competed in the Tour de France; however, many of these athletes (hem hem Chris Froome) have found the elevation of the Colorado Rockies to be much more taxing than Mont Ventoux and Alpe d’Huez.
The Pro Challenge rocked Summit County on both the 20th and 21st (Breck got a start and a finish). We biked (yes, I biked…) up to the top of Swan Mountain for a front row view of the climb. Almost makes me want to give cycling a chance, almost.
